Tungsten Carbide & Polylactic acid

The 3D1 eCutout is a Tungsten Carbide composite Shield in a 3D printed Polylactic Acid frame with the precise aperture printed into the shield device. The shield frame is filled with an attenuating material and then sealed with cyanoacrylate.

The material is non-toxic, able to be physically handled and is reclaimable. 3D1 has implemented a manufacturing process capable of a high degree of accuracy, to produce on demand, custom, beam-shaping radiation shield devices for individualized patient treatment.

With significant investment in R&D, specifically to design an environmentally friendly material that can be used as a replacement for LMPA traditionally used within the Varian and Elekta LINACS.

This highly automated production process allows for quick and efficient production and delivery via our online orders portal along with the use of our purposely designed GUI for offset, labelling and orientating purposes.

The 3D1 eCutout is available in custom water jet cut apertures or alternatively as part of a pre-cut Library set in various size apertures. These library sets will be for either an Elekta or Varian LINAC and will incorporate a variety of different shapes and sizes.
